Phillies - Mets Recap Quickie

The Phillies opened up a three game series with division rival New York Mets on Monday night and saw their two game win streak end with a 4-3 loss. Unfortunately for Phillies fans the star of this game was Jay Bruce. After the Phillies jumped out to a 2-0 lead in the first inning Bruce hit his first home run of the game in the fourth inning to cut it to 2-1. Bruce would score the tying run in the seventh inning on a Neil Walker sacrifice fly.  Bruce would then put the Mets up 4-2 with his second home run of the game in the eighth inning. Brock Stassi's first big league hit would be a home run in the bottom of the ninth to cut it to 4-3, but that would be the last run the Phillies would get. The Phillies drop to 3-4, and the Mets improve to 4-3.
