Phillies - Pirates Recap Qucikie

The Phillies and Pirates wrapped up the "Battle of PA" on Thursday night in the series finale with the Pirates sailing away with a 6-3 win. The Phillies took a 1-0 lead on one of the strangest plays you will ever see. While everyone was paying attention to Andres Blanco's bat heading into the stands Pirates catcher Elias Diaz thought it was a good time to try and pick off Andrew Knapp at first base. While Pirates first baseman Josh Bell was watching the bat the ball sailed past him and into the right field corner that allowed Knapp to score from first base. The Pirates would take a 3-1 lead on home runs by Josh Bell, and Gregory Polanco. Aaron Altherr's RBI single in the seventh tied it 3-3. The Pirates ended the scoring with a three run eighth inning. The Pirates win the 2017 "Battle of Pa" 5-2, win their third straight and improve to 40-46 while the Phillies drop their third straight and fall to 28-56.
